Parking is possible in the unguarded car park of the "Concordia" hall of residence for € 50/week. There is a public multi-storey car park in the school building for a fee (approx. € 195/month).

General information about the accommodation
What different accommodation options do I have?
The host families are located in various neighbourhoods and nearby suburbs of Heidelberg. The distance from the school varies depending on the category: 2-30 minutes by public transport in category A, up to a maximum of 50 minutes in category B.
What do I need to bear in mind when travelling to and from the school?
Moving in: Sundays from 11:00-18:00
Departure: Saturdays from 10:00-18:00 (outside these times for a surcharge of
35 € and only by arrangement). Please contact your host family in case of delays.
My arrival is delayed. What do I have to do?
If the start of your course is postponed - e.g. due to a delay in obtaining a visa - we reserve the right to place you with another host family in the same category. Please let us and the host family know as soon as possible if your arrival is delayed!
Is there free Wi-Fi?
It is possible to book a guarantee for WLAN or the use of the kitchen for a small surcharge. Please let us know in good time.
What is available in the rooms
The rooms are equipped with a bed, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair and can be locked. All rooms are non-smoking rooms. Bed linen is provided once, please bring your own towels!
Can I cook in the kitchen?
The kitchen may be used when booking without catering: 20% surcharge.
Where can I do my washing?
A washing machine is available in every host family. Please ask your host family about the use of the machine. In some families the students do their own laundry, in others the host family does it for them.
Is there a cleaning service?
The host family is responsible for the basic cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the cleaning of the guest room before arrival and after departure. However, students are expected to keep their rooms clean themselves. Cleaning materials will be provided.
What do I have to do if I want to extend my tenancy agreement?
Free extensions must be requested from the Accommodation Department four weeks before the end of the tenancy. We charge a processing fee of €50 for applications for extensions of less than 14 days to the end of the contract.
However, we do not guarantee the rental extension of a specific room as availability depends on the number of bookings. We do not reserve rooms until a binding booking has been made.
How do I cancel my rental contract?
After the start of the rental period, it is possible to cancel the accommodation by giving six full weeks' notice and paying a cancellation fee of € 150.
Can I change my accommodation
You can change your accommodation from host family to student residence or from student residence to host family subject to a notice period of two weeks after availability.
How do I get my deposit back?
You will receive a move-out form after the room check. Please send a scan of the form with your bank details to rooms.hd@fuu.de so that we can transfer the deposit to you. Please note that it can take up to 20 working days for the money to reach your account. All bank charges for this transfer must be paid by the customer and will be deducted from the deposit.
How do I get from the airport to my accommodation?
We organise transfers from all surrounding airports to any other desired address in Heidelberg via partner companies. We are happy to organise transfers within Heidelberg, for example from the main railway station to the student residence, for an additional charge. Transfers from the weekend meeting point to the hall of residence are free of charge and are organised by our weekend helpers.
