telc Deutsch A2 - general language exam
The telc A2 exam is a general language exam. It is designed for adults to prove their general language skills at level A2 of the CEFR for personal and professional purposes. If your knowledge is at A2 level, this means that you can express yourself in a simple way in typical everyday situations and hold short conversations. You use simple grammar structures correctly.
You can take the telc A2 exam with us. The Academy of Languages has been a recognized examination center for telc examinations for many years. We provide you with expert advice and support in all matters relating to your personal telc exam.
A2 exam format
The telc A2 exam consists of both a written and an oral part, both of which are taken on the same day. The written exam lasts a total of approx. 70 minutes. The oral exam lasts 15 minutes and is usually taken together with a second candidate. Both parts of the exam take place on the same day.
The written exam tests language skills in the three areas of listening, reading and writing.
In the listening comprehension part, you will be played various announcements and short conversations. You will complete a task for each listening text. There are different task formats. For example, you have to write down short pieces of information. There are also multiple choice and matching tasks. The listening comprehension part takes 20 minutes.
The reading and writing sections together take 50 minutes. In the reading section, you have to understand several short texts, such as letters, advertisements, short newspaper texts and notes, and answer questions about them. The task types are multiple choice, true-false and matching tasks. In the writing section, you will fill out a form and write a letter.
In the oral exam, you have three tasks. You and your exam partner introduce yourselves to each other, have an everyday conversation based on various questions and solve a simple problem together, e.g. finding an appointment to buy a book together.

telc A2+ Profession
The telc Deutsch A2+ Beruf exam is a job-specific exam focusing on work situations in the office. This exam is designed for adults to prove your job-specific language skills at level A2+ of the CEFR. A2+ means that your language skills are slightly above level A2. In a professional context, you can communicate in a simple way in common situations. You have a command of simple grammatical structures.

Exam format telc Deutsch A2+ Beruf
There is a written and an oral part. The written part lasts 2 hours. The oral exam takes place as a partner exam and lasts 15 minutes.
The written exam consists of the subtests reading, structures/vocabulary, listening and writing.
You have a total of 60 minutes for the reading and structures/vocabulary sections.
In the reading part, you will be given various short texts, such as advertisements, notices, minutes, information sheets and notices, for which you will answer multiple choice questions.
In the Structures/Vocabulary section, you will be given multiple-choice tasks on cloze texts. You have to decide which term fits for each gap.
The listening comprehension part takes 30 minutes and consists of two listening texts. The first listening text is a dialog; in the second listening text you will hear statements from different people on a topic. The task types are true-false and multiple choice.
In the writing section, you have 30 minutes to write two short texts. These are an e-mail and a note. You will be given guidelines on the content of each text.
In the oral exam, you will be given three tasks: You are to introduce yourself using a few key points. You have the task of talking about a profession - you will also be given key points for this. Then you and your partner should plan something together.
Procedure: From registration to passing the exam
1. contact us and clarify any questions you may still have.
2. decide on an exam date and let us know.
3. pay the invoice upon receipt.
4. familiarize yourself with the invitation letter and the current examination regulations, which you will receive approximately one week before the examination.
5. appear for your examination as indicated in the invitation letter.
6. if you wish: On the day of the exam, ask us at the test center to send you your results by post. Pay the postage costs directly on site.
7. otherwise: Collect your exam results from us when you have received notification from us that your exam results are available approx. 4 - 6 weeks after the exam.
Preparation course
For each exam, the F+U Academy of Languages offers suitable preparation courses that will help you maximize your potential in the exam and optimize your performance.
The exam day
1. arrival at the exam center: you will be welcomed by our team and taken to your exam room.
2. the invigilator in the exam room will direct you to the checkroom. Please make sure that you do not take your cell phone or smartwatch into the examination room
3. back in the examination room: the invigilator will explain the examination regulations, check your ID and explain the procedure for the written examination
4. the exam papers are handed out and the exam starts
5. at the end of the written exam, you can refresh yourself and wait for your oral exam in our waiting room. Please note: cell phones are still prohibited here!
6 Before the start of your oral exam, you may prepare for 20 minutes in a separate room where you will receive your tasks.
7 The examiner will pick you up after the preparation time and take you to the examination room.
8 Oral examination: The examination lasts 15 to 20 minutes.
9. after the oral exam, our team will take you to the checkroom to collect your things.
10. on request, we will issue you with a certificate of attendance.
